The royal decision dated 26 March 1751 that the merchant trade towards Greenland and the Disco Bay was only permitted by the general commerce company was renewed. Foreign ships were in the past forbidden to come within four miles if the coast but this prohibition was slightly changed. If there was a threat of shipwrecking or a need fro fresh water these ships were allowed to enter temporarily a harbour. If they tried to do business or harm the inhabitants were their ships seized and they severe punished.
