Chinese transport Chean wrecked according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 12 September 1894

An item reported that the Chinese transport Chean was wrecked with 1,400 soldiers off Chetung Pass while underway to Formosa. Despite the panic among the soldiers were they saved.
