An item dated Dordrecht 17 January reported that as a result of the heavy storm last Sunday lost the at Antwerp newly built frigate ship De Schelde which already arrived at Flushing to embark the troops for Batavia, the Dutch East Indies her anchors and floating towards Terneuzen where she was grounded. The pilot from Flushing was already on board, the troops not yet.
The edition dated 27 January reported that according to a tiding from Antwerp dated the 20th that already six lighters arrived at Antwerp carrying stores, sails and rigging from her although wet and damaged. Her master was C. Neurenburg.
The edition dated 7 March published an item dated Antwerp 4 March reporting that she on 1 March was floated again and stayed at Terneuzen until the 3rd while the wind prevented that she was towed by a steamboat towards Flushing or Terneuzen for repairs.
The edition dated Friday 16 March published an item dated Antwerp 13 March that according to tidings she was to arrived coming Thursday while towed by the 90hp British steamboat Attwood.

This item suggested that she was to arrive between 11 and 15 April at Antwerp using partly her own sails supported by some common vessels.
