American transport President Lincoln torpedoed according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated Saturday 1 June 1918

An item dated Washington 1 June reported that on Friday the American transport President Lincoln was torpedoed and sunk while homeward bound to the USA. She was a former property of the Hamburg Amerika Linien. The De Zeeuw of two days later confirmed the item adding that she measured 18,168 tons.
