Arrival of the Dutch merchant bark den Elshout at Batavia according to the Dutch newspaper Javasche Courant dated 3 December 1845

An item dated Batavia 2 December reported the arrival on 20 November at Batavia of the Dutch merchant ship den Elshout (1) master Rijken coming from Japan. On board were as passengers .A. Bik, J.P.Borst, A.J.J. de Wolff and J.C.D. Delprat. The ship left on 2 November Decima leaving the so-called chief and the other civil servant in well circumstances.

1. The site http://www.zeemansleed/ mentioned a bark den Elshout wood build (and coppered) in 1844 at the yard of the Gebr. Pot at Elshout for W. Bakker Bzn., at Amsterdam. In 1871 condemned and sold in the Dutch East Indies and became the Yoeserin with as homeport Surabaya.
