An item reported that in the last days the Belgian tug President Lûdwig passed.(1) She was build inEngland for the firm H. Herling &Co. of Antwerp and especially designed to serve at Antwerp as icebreaker and to be used for towing ships to all sea harbours. At the end of January or begin February was a second vessel of this kind to be launched.

1. The Belgian Ships Archive 2011, 2e jaargang April-June supplied more details about this tug belonging to the Société de remorquage à hélice. She was iron build by the shipyard of Cook, Welton&Gemmel at Hull, England with yard number 85, gross tonnage 147 or 166 tons, a net tonnage of 36 tons, dimensions 39,36 x 6,71 x 3,45 metres or 116’0”x 22’0”x 11’4”, her engine supplied 68 nhp or 600 ihp allowing a speed of 10 knots. On 15 February 1918 wrecked and lost. The Dutch shipyard Kon. Mij De Schelde delivered on 31 March 1904 a boiler for the ship which was ordered on 15 September 1903 (order no. 380).
