Chinese steamship Hsin-Yu sunk in collision according to the Dutch newspaper Vlissingse Courant dated Tuesday 25 April 1916

An item reported that that the Chinese crusier Hai-Yung which was conveying transports collided with the steamship Hsin-Yu south of the Choesan Isles on the evening of last Saturday. The steamship sunk and the last tidings were  that just 30 of the 1,000 men on board were saved. The Hai-Yung of 3,000 tons was build in 1897 and the Hsin-Yu of 1,629 tons was build in 1889 and belonged to the China Mar. Steam Nav. Co. of Shanghai.
