None German transport Marion sunk by British according to the Dutch newspaper Limburger Koerier dated 11 September 1940

An item referred to official German tidings which denied the British tiding that one of her submarines torpedoed the German troop transport Marion in the Kattegat. There existed none German troop transport with that name nor were lately transport sunk. The transport Pionier of 3,285 ton however which belonged to the German navy regular made journeys to Norway and was recently damaged while being in the Kattegat. This was however not caused by an enemy action. The sailors and the German soldiers underway for their leave in Germany were forced to abandon the ship with just a few losses.
