Turkey ordered building cruiser by German shipyard Germania at Kiel according to the Dutch newspaper Vlissingse Courant dated 2 August 1902

An item reported that the Turkish government ordered the building of a new cruiser at the shipyard Germania at Kiel, Germany, costs 164.000 Turkish pounds and for repairing of the transport Izmir were another 11,000 pound paid.
