An item reported that the Russian torpedo boat No. 189 of 85 ton fitted out for using liquid fuel executed a trial with normal draught. With a speed of 17,75 miles was a half ton of fuel needed to convert 6 ton water each hour into steam and with a speed of 14,5 miles was this just 3.75 ton.
