In the meeting of the commissaries on 4 February 1884 proposed the director to sent engineer Plate abroad if there was no work to obtain orders. On short notice he was to start at Le Havre.(1) The board decided according the proposal. His journey seemed to be successful while on 2 May already agents were appointed namely Ch. &Alex. Plate [family relations?]. Plate went from France to Russia to search there for relations. On 21 June decided the board to pay any Russian agents just provisions for orders and to compensate only telegrams and postal charges. On 30 July reported the director that agents were appointed for Riga, St. Petersburg and Moscow. On 21 November 1885 was reported that there were agents appointed at Madrid and La Coruna.(1)
