An item reported that the Dutch steam tanker Rotterdam of the American Petroleum Company arrived on 12th at Amsterdam fully loaded with around 5.000 ton petrol coming from Baton Rouge.(1)

1. Callsign PRMS. Launched in June 1895 at the shipyard of Palmers&Co.Ltd, Newcastle, England with yard number 690 for account of N.V. American Petroleum Company of Rotterdam, the predecessor of ESSO. With a gross register tonnage of 4.405 tons, a net tonnage of 3.687 tons, a deadweight of 6.300 tons were the dimensions 109,73-111,63 x 14,45 and a hold of 8,92 metres. The 3 cylinder triple expansion steam engine supplied 1.200 ihp allowing a speed of 10,5 knots. In 1924 sold to De Gregori&Scotto, Genoa, Italy and renamed Olandese. Finally broken up at Genoa in 1932.
