Arrival of Dutch whalers at Texel on 31 July and 1 August according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 8 August 1758

On 31 July arrived at Texel the Johannes commandeur Cornelis Pieters Quak with 2 whales and 35 quardelen, the Zoete Naam commandeur Strop with 1 whale and 70 quartelen, the Margaretha commandeur Andries Cornelus empty and the Sint Andries commandeur laurens Symons Quast empty all coming from Greenland. From Strait Davis arrived the Hollandia commandeur Andries Cornelisz with 11 whales and full loaded with blubber. The so-called Strait Davis whalers which arrived in the last four days had as total results 66 whales and 2,80 quartelen of whale blubber.On 1 August arrived the Jacob Emanuel commandeur Gerrit Carstens with 2 whales and 18 quardelen from Greenland.
