An item reported that the Dutch whaling company Nederlandse maatschappij voor de Walvisvaart bought three Japanese whale catchers which were during the Second World War used by the Japanese navy. The vessels measured 350 gross and 120 net tons, were built in 1937-1938 and needed extensive repairs.
