As a response to a item published in the newspaper Daily Telegraph that the German naval shipbuilding was delayed stated the German Admiralty although refusing to give more details that the building of the ships still on stocks wasn’t delayed in anyway. Germany reacted calm on the news that England wanted to fit out their ships with heavier guns as they had all confidence in their own guns. The British decision was to be deplored by other nations while ships with a larger displacement were also more expensive to be build. The result was that all nations including Germany were forced to this arms race just like when England started to built dreadnoughts.
