British bark Halt whisle wrecked off Callantsoog, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Weekblad van Den Helder en het Nieuwediep dated 26 January 1857

An item dated Den Helder the 24th reported that on the 19th the British bark ship Haltwhistle [elsewhere called Holwithslij] captain Patterson stranded south of Callantsoog. She was underway from Batavia and Samarang, Dutch Indies towards Bremen, Germany with a cargo mainly consisting of sugar, coffee, rice and skins. Of the cargo was just a bit salvaged. Her crew was the next day with a pilot boat transported to Den Helder. Due their rescue capsized one sloop costing the life of a pilot.
