An
item dated Vienna Friday 20 January reported
that according to merchant tidings received from Odessa the Russian Black Sea ports were
closed for French and British merchant ships. This was a result of the arrival
of the combined allied fleets. The Turkish Porte would supply none new firmans.
This was requested by the hospodar of Serbia.
