Cadiz,
16 November. The Spanish vice consul at Faro, Portugal informed the military
governor of that city that a privateer of the American insurgents while
crossing in these waters burnt or shot down several Spanish ships including the
Nuestra Senora de Regle destined from St. Ander towards Cadiz and of which 6
crewmembers safely reached Faro. The privateer was armed with 6-12pdrs and 2-18pdr
carronades and her crew numbered around 130 men.
