The Greek navy in the Mediterranean according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 15 December 1824

Frankfurt, 10 December. The Greek navy was in 3 divisions divided, the first off Samos, the second in the waters of Chios and the third one near Mitylene and Tenedos. There was also a small squadron at Hydra form where all operations started, At Malta arrived a considerable amount of guns from the Greek cause and were 4 frigates and 2 ships waiting for the beginning of the winter. According to some rumours they intended the blockade the Dardanelles when the forth coming expedition would start some which would be done as soon as the fleets returned. All ships which needed to be repaired were called back to Hydra and the Greek government ordered in case someone wanted to sell his ship this was allowed except to the government.
