Trieste, 10 August.
According to tidings of Syra dated 16 July was the Turkish fleet commanded by
the Captain Pasha off Anti Ipsara defeated. Fire ships of Hydra used between
Ipsara and the small island Anti Ipsara seemed to have caused large losses at
Turkish side burning partly of their fleet and causing the remaining being in
disorder to retreat to Mitylene.
