Turkish government forbade Turkish merchant ships to sail on Bulgaria according to the Dutch newspaper Leeuwarder nieuwsblad date 25 November 1941

An item reported that the Turkish cabinet forbade all Turkish ships to sail between Istanbul and Bulgarian harbours as a result of the numerous attacks by Soviet submarines. Also small ships below 150 tons were no longer permitted to enter this shipping. A result was that around 60 Turkish motor vessels loaded with cargoes for Bulgaria were halted.
