This happened all 3rd March, the same day that admiral Brown with 4 ships was attacked by 22 ships. Two Brazilian ships grounded and were after a fierce fight destroyed. Admiral Brown was wounded, while captain Brummond of the Independence and lieutenant Thomas were killed.
