The building of this 7th rate at the navy yard at Rotterdam for the Admiralty of the Maze was ordered on 6 December 1785 ordered to be built, launched on 20 March 1787. Built with the use of the design of Glavimans to be discussed with vice admiral Reinst and overseer Van Zwijndregt, on 2 May 1786 called Bellona, on 10 October 1786 ordered to put out ornaments for ƒ 400 to Maijstre, on 6 February 1687 authorized to buy wood for ‘beschietwerk’ and on 6 March 1787 ordered to be launched on 20 March Dimensions 121 3/11 x 33 3/11 x 12 9/11 and an armament of 20-24 guns. Commanding officers 1788-1790 captain H. Hartman, 1790 voyage to Ternate, Celebes, 1790-1792 lieutenant J.W. van Hamel, 1792 captain A.Th. Detmere, voyage to Channel, 1794 captain J. Rijnbende. In 1796 in the Saldanhay Bay captured by he British Royal Navy. In the latter commissioned as the 6th rate HMS Vindictive, stricken from the Navy List in 1810 and broken up at Sheerness, England in 1816. Dimensions in British service 112’ x 32‘, a 506 tons builders measurement and an armament of, 28 guns.
