The American, Egyptian and Greek navies in the Levant according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 28 September 1825

Vienna, 17 September. The newspaper Oesterreichische Beobachter published a letter from Corfu dated 23 August according to which the fleet of the Captain pasha left the waters of Missolunghi 5 Augustus southwards probably to support the 5th Egyptian expedition. She consisted of 12 frigates, 13 corvettes and 15 brigs and schooners. Forteen ships namely a corvette, 4 brigs, 4 schooners and 5 transports stayed behind in the Gulf of Patras. The 6th departed the Greek fleet of 22 ships and 15 fire ships and the 10th Miaulis with another 10 ships the waters of Missolunghi towards the South. The American squadron anchored 21 August at Smyrna.
