Spanish privateers waiting for departure towards open sea according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 22 April 1823

The newspaper l'Oracle published a letter from Barcelona according to which 60 Spanish vessels fitted out as privateers and with letters de marque anchored off the Spanish coasts between Rosas and Tarragona waiting for permission from the governor to depart for open sea. This permission was to be expected as soon as tidings arrived of a French invasion in Spain.
