The Mexican and Spanish navies in the South American area according to the Nederlandsche Staatscourant dated 15 December 1825

London, 9 December. The British brig sloop HMS Jasper arrived from Vera Cruz after a voyage of 61 days. She reported that when she left the Spanish ships fought with the Mexican squadron commanded by Captain Smith.
