An item reported
that recently a large capstan made of mahogany was found on the strand and
which was recognized by an agent from London as
belonging to the large transport Clifford which left England
bound for Madras,
British Indies with a crew of 33 men and some passengers. Wreckage proved that
she was lost during the lately storms.
