Danish minister of navy asked for more budget to buy armoured ships according to the Dutch newspaper Nederlandsche staatscourant dated 8 April 1862

An item reported that in the meeting of the Danish parliament of the 2nd the minister van navy announced that he would come with a request for a considerable budget needed for building armoured ships. It was yet not known if this budget would be spent for a floating battery, gunboats of the purchase of a larger ship. He promised that when this budget was approved that in the coming budget year none wood-built ship was laid down, as much costs would be reduced although the ships now on stocks would be completed.
