Greek blockade runner Enosis persecuted by Turkish navy according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 5 August 1869

An item reported that the steamship Enosis which was persecuted by Hobbard pacha (1) accused being a blockade runner and which seek refugee in the harbour of Syra was absolved by Greek courts.

1. This must be August Charles Hobart (1 April 1822 Walron-on-the Wolds, Leicestershire, England-18 June 1886 Milan, Italy ? In the Dutch newspaper De Tijd dated 1 September 1869 is Hobart called a former navy captain of the Royal Navy who became admiral of the Turkish fleet. In the Civil War he had been a blockade runner.
