British screw steam sloop Daring underway from the Dutch East Indies towards South Africa according to the Dutch newspaper Java-bode dated 16 September 1887

An item dated Batavia, Dutch East Indies 16th reported the departure of the British steam warship Daring captain Boldero towards Cape Of Good Hope, South Africa.(1)

1. Composite screw steam sloop launched at the shipyard of Wigram, Blackwall, England on 4 February 1874 and sold to J. Cohen in August 1889. Main armament of 2-7 guns and 2-64 pd guns.
