US Navy preparing for probably interference in Mexico according to the Dutch newspaper according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlandsch-Indië dated 10 November 1913

An item reported that 8 American battleships were lying off Vera Cruz, Mexico. At Portsmouth, New Hampshire were 200 marines ordered to be prepared for service in a southern climate and the gathering of 2.500 navy soldiers at Guantanamo (South Cuba) prepared.(1)

1. Between 1910-1920 was Mexico in political disorder with changing regimes. In 1913-1914 was that the so-called Huerta Regime. It resulted in bombarding and later occupying Vera Cruz by the USA.
