Dutch fire fighting vessel Jason 1903-1963


Building ordered by the town Amsterdam, Netherlands at the shipyard Kon. Mij. De Schelde at Vlissingen on 20 October 1903. Laid down with yard number 113 on 24 December 1903 between the north and south slips, in the thrushes on 1 February 1904, plated on 7 March 1904, launched on 20 April 1904, berthed trial on 7 June 1904, technical trials on 8-10 June and 21 June 1904, official trial on 21 June 1904, delivered on 10 July 1904 and finally stricken and broken up in 1963. 

Displacement 106 tons and as dimensions 34,38 (between perpendiculars) x 5,18 x 1,52 x 2,44 (height) metres or 80.0 x 17.0 x 5.0 x 8.0 feet. Draught at launching 1;9.25”-3’2” with a displacement of 40 tons. Speed 10,6 miles during the trial with a displacement of 106 tons and 5.0’ draught. One 359 ihp 2-cylinder engine and 2 Yarrow water tube boilers.
