The new American coastal defence 40,6cm gun according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1925 no. 3

An item referred to the German magazine Marine Rundschau dated march 1925 reporting that of the new American 40,6cm guns for coastal defence purposes two were placed at New York, Boston and further more on Hawaii and at both ends of the Panama Canal. Length 50 cal, weight gun 175 tons, weight shell 1.060 kilo, maximum range 50 kilometres, able to fire one shell in a minute, the barrel could 150 times before she was to be replaced and able to pierce 30cm on a distance of 18 kilometres.
