Russian submarine B 3 sunk according to the Dutch magazine Onze Vloot dated September 1935

An item reported that on 25 July 1935 the Russian submarine B-3 (1) sunk in the Finnish Gulf taking all 55 crewmembers with her. She was an old submarine of around 800 tons commissioned in 1917. Early August was she salvaged. In the last few years was this the fourth of fifth Russian submarine disaster always in the Baltic area. The losses were extra ordinary heavy while the Baltic fleet numbered until shortly never more as 16 submarines.

1. This is the Boshevik, ex Rys, laid down on 3 July 1914, launched in 1916, completed on 4 November 1916, since 15 September 1934 the B-3, raised on 2 August 1935 and sold to be broken up.
2. At least the Rabochiv, ex-Ersh, sunk on 22 May 1931, salvaged around 1933 and sold to be broken up and the Proletatariy, ex-Zmeya, refloated on 5 September 1934 and sold to be broken up in 1935. All of the Bars-class with a displacement of 650 (surfaced)-780 (submerged) tons and built between 1914-1917.
