British M-class submarines added to the Atlantic Fleet according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1921

An item referred to the The Naval&Military Record dated 20 July 1921 reporting the British M-class submarines armed with 1-30,5cm/12” gun were added to the Atlantic Fleet. This class was originally especially built for operations along th Flemish coast but now was the possibility to act with the fleet considered.(1)

1. With a displacement of 1.594 (surfaced)-1.946 (submerged) tons and except for the 12” gun also armed with 1-7,6cm/3” high angle ant aircraft gun and 4-18”/45cm (M1,2) or 4-53,3cm/21” (M3,4) torpedo tubes. Just 4 built. Designed to coastal bombardments and the main gun was to be used fro destroying merchant shps rather than the torpedo tubes.
