An item referred to the magazine Schiffbau dated 1 July 1935 reporting that in the Soviet Union 6 cruisers, 6 destroyers, 25 submarines and 2 gunboats were under construction. However it was believed that this was no actually happening but just the intentions for the next years to come. Japanese tidings mentioned a new naval base south west of Vladivostok were some submarines were under construction.
