American whaler Ansel Gibbs bound for the Davis Strait according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 3 January 1860

An item reported that the ship Ansel Gibbs of Fairhaven, USA now lying in the port was to be fitted out for a whaling voyage bound for the Davis Strait in the spring with as master Chappell, earlier first officer of  the Hannibal of New London.(1)
