Soviet merchant tankers under construction at Nikolaev [Ukraine] according to a CIA report dated 4 March 1957

An item reported that at a shipyard at Nikolaev alongside the Black Sea [nowadays Ukraine] 10.000 ton tankers were under construction on behalf of the Soviet Union merchant fleet. The Odessa Shipping office ordered 80 tankers and with a monthly production of 1,5 tanker were already 25 tankers delivered. The machinery was manufactured at Leningrad [St. Petersburg, Russia] and shipped to Nikolaev.
