Laid down by Baltic Works, St. Petersburg, Russia on 19 May 1890, launched on 22 October 1892, commissioned in May 1895 and scuttled on 14 August 1904 after she was damaged by Japanese cruisers in the battle off Ulsan underway towards Port Arthur.
