Soviet icebreaker Telva Popozuts sighted at Rostock, East Germany according to a CIA report dated 2 November 1950

An item reported that at the Neptun Shipyard, Rostock, East Germany the repair of the Soviet icebreaker Telva Popozuts started on mid July 1950.(1)

Note
1. A comment said that a Soviet icebreaker with this name was unknown. Perhaps she could be identified with the Alesva Popovich in 1940 named by Jane’s Fighting Ships Aleksis Popov. The Alyosha Popovich dating from 1945 was decommissioned and abandoned off Russky Island in 1970 and broken up in 2003. Former German icebreaker Eisvogel built in 1942, handed over to the Soviet Union as war reparations.
