American unions asking president to start modernisation of battleships according to the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 16 May 1930

An item reported that a delegation of American unions asked the US president Hoover to start on short notice with the modernisation of American battleships to decrease the unemployment of the shipyard workers.
