An item reported that under the present Six Year Plan a considerable increase of the Polish navy could be realized with own shipyards able to build warships. The shipyard at Danzig delivered in both World Wars very good submarines [under German supervision]. At the navy yard at Gdynia was just before the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939 started with the building of two Blyskawica type destroyers. The building of small vessels like minesweepers, submarine chasers and so on was not expected to meet specific problems.
