The Romanian shipyards at Giurgiu and Turnu Severin according to a CIA report dated 26 June 1952

An item referred to an anonymous informant who reported that the Romanian shipyards at Giurgiu and Turnu Severin were in terms of dimensions comparable with the shipyard at Galati, Romania. Limitation was that ships larger than 1.000 tons could not pass Galati, so the shipyards along the river were used for newbuilding/repairs of inland vessels. The shipyard at Orsova, Romania with a personnel numbering around 300 workers was used for minor repairs on inland vessels.
