German seal hunter P. Michels predicted very good whaling season according to the Dutch newspaper Oprechte Haerlemsche courant dated 2 July 1756

An item dated Hamburg, Germany 28th June reported the arrival of the seal hunter P. Michels reporting that he was on 5th June on the geographical position of 77 degrees. He suspected that a lot of southern ice came as far as the South Cape. In his opinion predicted this a very good catch season for whalers. On 29th May he sighted 3 Dutch whalers arrived on 73 degrees which left Texel, Netherlands on 29 April on a northern course.
