An item reported that in the Polish harbour Gdansk the berth was built of stone and concrete faced with wood allowing enough space for berthing three large ships. The face of the berth had a length of 1,550-1.770 feet. Adjacent were brick-concrete built slate roofed single-story warehouses. The warehouses were linked to a standard gauge railroad track and a good road. The quay was accessible by ‘good’ roads and rail with tracks of standard gauge and which were raised a little bit above the dock surface level. A cargo ship was discharging her cargo of grain into a hopper and from there into railroad cars.
