An item reported that the Russian company Oder Navigation A.G. operated a fleet of barges on the Oder river. Coming from Berlin came imports and exports of East Germany via the Hohenzollern Canal destined from Szcezecin, Poland and from Kozle, Poland was coke and coal transported via the Oder-Spreek Canal destined towards Berlin. On the southern route were around 800 barges with 200-750 tons capacity and 75 tugs with a horsepower of 120-800hp active. The barges had German crews and could be identified by a yellow triangle with in black a number and letters in Cyrillic alphabet. The tug had on their funnels a red stripe and their name was in black letters painted on a red background. The main border point was at Fürstenberg with Polish customs controls at Krosno and documents control at Ratzdorf.
