Yugoslavian merchant ships could be used by the United Kingdom according to the Dutch newspaper Het volk dated 9 April 1941


An item referred to the New York Journal American reporting that the Yugoslavian representative at Washington, USA during negotiations with the British department of shipping stated that the Yugoslavian cabinet accepted that Yugoslavian ships were to be used by the United Kingdom. Yugoslavian shipping agents at New York estimated that in American harbours the equivalent of 20 ships or around 80.000-10.000 tons tonnage was available.
