German sailors at Hamburg refused to crew to be handed over German merchant ships according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag voor Nederlands-Indië dated 29 March 1919

An item reported that two German merchant ships could not leave Hamburg, Germany while the Hamburg department of the German sailors union refused to crew those ships. German newspaper objected against this policy and described the Hamburg sailors as communists.
