Japanese cargo ship (ex-Eastern 1899-1924) Terukini Maru 1924-1944
Built by Napier&Sons, Glasgow, Scotland as s.s. Eastern for account of Eastern&Australian Steamship Co., London in April 1899, since 1924 as Terukini Maru of Harada Kisen K.K., Amagasaki, Japan and sunk by American aircraft of TG 38.2 on 18 October 1944 off north eastern Luzon/Camiguin, Philippines. Gross tonnage 5.589 tons, under deck 1.958 tons, net tonnage 2.272 tons, deadweight 4.284 tons and as dimensions 352 (waterline) x 42 x 14.6 (light)-24 (loaded) feet. Range with a speed of 11 knots and a coal bunker capacity of 1.117 tons was 6.000 nautical miles. Horsepower 469nhp.
