Italian and German merchant ships in Mexican harbours guarded according to the Dutch newspaper Noordbrabantsch dagblad het huisgezin dated 5 April 1941

An item dated Mexico City 4th reported that senator Calcaneo in the Senate that the Italian and German merchant ships lying in the harbours of Pampico and Vera Cruz were guarded by military. The presidium of the senate appointed a commission consisting of Calcaneo and two other senators to advice how to continue, seizure, buying or exchange. Calcaneo described the ships as important for the Mexican merchant fleet.
